My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Case Beach Club this past May. I have to admit that the reviews were so positive that I was suspicious - but my suspicions were unfounded. This place is amazing. Our "standard" room was about 25 feet from the waters edge. The staff was friendly and attentive. It was simply the most relaxing place I have stayed in recent memory.

Don't get me wrong, this place is not perfect for everyone. If you are looking for a big crowded hotel, a casino, a huge pool with a swim up bar then this is not the place for you. Try the Westin Hotel at Dawn Beach. However, if you want a great little hotel that is right on the water and a 5-10 minute walk from some great bars and restaurants this is the place for you.

Also, the majority of folks here were a bit on the older side (35 +) and the beach is very calm. So, if you are looking for a younger crowd and some big wave action at the beach you should also look elsewhere. Anywhere at Orient Beach or the Westin at Dawn Beach would probably be better bets. Then again, if it's tranquility you are looking for then this is the place.

I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. In fact, I could vacation here for one week a year for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy with my hotel selection. One recommendation though - rent a car! There is a lot to see and do on St. Marten and Grand Case will get a little quiet during the course of a week.

Last, don't worry about all the positive reviews - they are well deserved!
